Radius Pediatric Center at Plymouth is a complete resource for children and adults with medically complex needs. Our 62-bed skilled nursing facility offers a range of short-term, long-term and respite care services, all designed to enhance the lives of our residents with severe developmental disabilities and multiple medical challenges. These challenges may include compromised respiratory status, serious orthopedic limitations, neurological disorders, and complex nutritional needs.
Education for All Ages
At the heart of Radius Pediatric Center you'll find two unique education programs.
Our fully certified Radius Pediatric Center Day School, for individuals age 3 to 22, encourages the intellectual, emotional and physical growth of each student. We recognize that every student does not learn in the same way, so we have tailored the programs at our Day School to meet the unique needs of each student.
We also believe that education for individuals with specialized needs should not have to stop at a certain age. That's why we offer Specialized Services to provide educational programs for those over the age of 22. Our Specialized Services instructors are focused on helping these individuals to achieve their highest potential for communication, socialization and physical capabilities. All instructors and instructor aides in both the Day School and Specialized Services program are trained as Certified Nursing Assistants.
A Well-rounded Center
Radius provides services and activities for almost every specialized need. For example, our Recreational Activities include everything from creative arts to physical education. Our very popular Aquatics program is designed to strengthen both body and spirit. Our community outings include trips to the Boston Ballet, New England Aquarium and Boston Red Sox games, just to name a few.
Other programs offered at Radius include:
- Visiting dental, podiatry and ophthalmology services
- Orthopedic clinics, which keep muscles and tendons limber and ensure maximum range of motion
- Specialized wheelchair clinics
- Physiatry programs, which are designed to produce the highest level of physical functioning
